Settings has four clear sections: Your details, Privacy, Alerts, and Sign in and safety. Most switches save as soon as you change them.

Before you begin
Sign in. Settings apply to the personal account currently shown, even if you also belong to a business workspace.
How to get there
Choose the directions for the device you are using.
On a computer
Open Menu at the top right and choose Settings. Use the Settings navigation for Your details, Privacy, Alerts, or Sign in and safety.
On a phone
Select Menu, then Settings. Use the Settings section selector for Your details, Privacy, Alerts, or Sign in and safety.
You are in the right place when
The page heading identifies the selected settings area and shows a short explanation above its controls.
Follow these steps

Open Settings
Select Menu at the top right, choose Settings, and then choose Your details, Privacy, Alerts, or Sign in and safety.

Read before changing
Read the explanation beside a control before changing it. Switches in Privacy, Alerts, and Sign in and safety save automatically; Your details has its own Save changes button.

Check the result
Look for the saved message or return to the section and confirm the control still shows your choice. These settings affect only your own account.
What happens next?
Change one preference. Choose Save changes on Your details; switches in the other sections save automatically. Return to the section to check the result.

If you get stuck
If a choice does not remain, return to the same Settings section and change it once more. Change one setting at a time so you can see which choice did not remain.
